Driving into Barcelona city itself was a bit stressful, with city traffic whizzing up 6 lane streets at 80 kph. And scooters zipping in and out, thank goodness most pedestrians obey the crossing rules. When we got close to the hostel, we diverted early into a parking building and walked the last 20 minutes. Arriving at the hostel, searching for building names and recognisable features, but like so many European accommodations, the Casa Consell Guest House was merely recognised by a small label taped onto the door buzzer. The hostel was clean and friendly, and they moved us to a double room so neither of us had to toss for the top bunk.
Enjoyed roaming the city, sighting the 1992 Olympic Park, gogling at Gaudi's works and best of all the La Sagrada Familia. We were disappointed that the grand hospital was closed, but we walked the
block to view through the gates and wowed at the impressive design and thought that they had created such a beautiful place - surely one would feel instantly better on arriving at Hospital de Sant Pau.
