Fun flights with Belgium airlines

The day was given over to travel, so no plans except to arrive at the airport in plenty of time. I had booked us into the Ibis Styles, reliable for cheap and basic but I laughed out loud as we made our way to our room. The carpet was printed as a runway road with lanes and crossings, and when we entered our room the bed was set as though the cockpit, with a bedside tray with printed control panels. But it was a good bed, and despite our low expectations the breakfast included freshly squeezed orange juice which you did yourself at the Orange juicer machine, reasonable coffee and good pastries. I had been joking that the food would be all cellphone wrapped long life horrid stuff so was pleasantly surprised.
We got the rental returned ahead of time and progressed smoothly through the airport. Once at the boarding gate though, a group of hipster journalists launched a demonstration on the other side of the glass doors at the deportation of someone named Mohamad. We were interested that they were allowed  to bang on the windows and chant loudly, and it seemed that this may have delayed our flight, which was at the same gate as Mohamads flight. The protesters had been requesting that passengers support the protest and refuse to secure their seatbelt, but this was about the most we managed to interpret. Meanwhile out on the runway, a young man was being escorted from the plane to a nearby police car. Despite a Google search we couldn't find any further info on the event, but I had started to wonder if we might miss our connecting flight. But no, once we were all quickly boarded, and despite the man in front of us continuing his phone call while we were taxiing on the run way, we seemed to get away promptly. I wondered what the air hostess was waving on about, then realised that this was the safety briefing. We couldn't hear the instructions, though they were in English, but a bit slap dash compared to how well our home airline manages this.
Our stopover in Brussels was just long enough to remember how intoxicating the beers are, and then we were off again on the next flight to Prague. Ignoring the extra cost and prebooking a taxi to meet and greet and relay us to our hotel was a nice end to the days travel, and we arrived at our delightful 1500 th century Prague hotel, feeling like we were in wonderland. Hand painted Renaissance ceiling in our room overlooking the Charles bridge.
